Shawn Bloom is the president and CEO of the National PACE Association (NPA). He joined NPA in 2000, when there were 18 PACE programs in six states. Today, more than 150 PACE programs operate in 32 states and the District of Columbia and serve more than 68,000 individuals. Previously, he was executive director of the Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging and worked in the Policy and Governmental Affairs Division of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (now LeadingAge). He has testified on elderly and long-term care policy issues before Congress, state legislative committees, and the National Academy of Sciences. He earned a B.S. in biochemistry and gerontology at Kansas State University and completed his master’s coursework in long-term care at the University of North Texas, Center for Studies in Aging.
